How We Got Here
Our story has taken us from the workshop floor to the Drakensberg sky. We are bonded by shared values, a love of aviation and endless debate (current score is Jabu 97–86 Uma—not that anyone is keeping count).

2015
We met while studying at the University of the Witwatersrand. Two science and engineering nerds, our worlds first collided on the workshop floor, where we built race cars and remote-controlled aircraft together.
2017
Somewhere between the late-night design sessions and troubleshooting, our friendship evolved into something deeper. In 2017, against Uma’s better judgement, we began dating—and we’ve been on the same adventure ever since.
2017–2024
During our first seven years together, we collected countless precious memories: more than 80 trips around South Africa, exploring new places and revisiting old favourites. From bungee jumping from the Soweto Towers to our ongoing mission to find the best chicken-wing restaurant in Gauteng, we have loved nothing more than sharing new experiences.
December 2024
On 21 December 2024, high above the Drakensberg Mountains—a sky that has always connected us—we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
To Andromeda and Beyond
We are no longer the young couple who fell in love nearly ten years ago, but one thing remains unchanged: our love and commitment to one another. We are excited to see it grow and flourish in the years to come.
Wedding Day · 22 December 2026
On 22 December 2026, we will become husband and wife. We cannot wait to make this promise surrounded by the people who have shaped, supported and loved us—and to celebrate everything still ahead, together.
Threads of Africa
Traditional African wear is central to the look, spirit and atmosphere of our wedding. We invite you to share in the joy of the day by embracing Threads of Africa.
Please avoid conventional suits and ties, tuxedos, Western evening or cocktail wear, office or business attire, and casual everyday clothing.
Need help finding outfit inspiration?
Download style guideTraditional African wear is the heart of the celebration. Choose an outfit that feels joyful and considered—you can keep the suit and tie for your job interview.
Dresses, shirts, skirts, wraps, coordinated sets, headwear, and accessories with a clear African design language will fit beautifully.
Choose from our joyful, grounded palette, designed to reflect our taste and photograph beautifully.
Look for African prints, beadwork, embroidery, woven detailing and accents. Texture is the spice of your look.
Statement headwear, wraps and traditional accessories can complete the look without overwhelming it.
Comfortable enough for a full day in the garden.

An African-inspired outfit in a celebratory colour or print will fit beautifully. Just don’t wear conventional Western wear, or we will have to send you home to change—with tears in our eyes and grief in our hearts.
